COVID-19 Restrictions to Dental Practices from 27 April 2021

The Australian Dental Association (WA Branch) has released a statement confirming a Level 3 restriction in Dental Practices as of Tuesday 27 April 2021.  These restrictions will be updated during the week.

What is a Level 3 Restriction? A Level 3 restriction means that dental practices cannot generate aerosols and therefore cannot perform  routine dental treatment.  So unfortunately we cannot provide fillings, crowns, or perform scale and cleans.

There are 3 exceptions to this rule:

1.Severe acute pain where a patient requires the

  • Extraction of a baby tooth
  • Extraction of an adult tooth or
  • Root canal treatment of an adult tooth

2. Significant dental trauma

3. Treatment in the Operating Theatre at Southbank Day Surgery will proceed

For now, our practice is open for emergency management.

Please wear a mask at all times and have only 1 parent attend the appointment.

We understand this is a very difficult time for everyone in the community. It is important to us that we advocate to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and practice within the Guidelines.  Patients with appointments over the next couple of days will be contacted during the week to reschedule their appointment.
